Doula Support
I draw on my professional training, knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort and, as needed, communication with the staff to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, soothing touch, positioning and other techniques for comfort. I am independent and self-employed. As your doula, I am working for YOU, not your caregiver or hospital. However, I am not there to work against the labor and delivery staff, my goal is to work with them in the most respectful and supportive way to provide you with the best care possible.

Doula Coaching and “On-Call” Support
For those who potentially do not want a doula with them during labor/birth but want all of the perks of having access to a doula. I offer private childbirth education and will be “on-call” for any and all questions that may come up throughout your pregnancy, labor and birth, as well as early postpartum. This may look like having a discussion about possible induction, chatting about issues that could arise during pregnancy and what your options are. You may want to talk to me throughout labor for guidance on when to go to the hospital or what movements/positions to do to help labor progress/make more room for baby to come down.
Includes two prenatal meetings in person or via zoom, access to me throughout pregnancy and on-call support during your labor and birth, and one postpartum visit.

WHAT DOULAS DO NOT DO.
As a doula, I do not:
· Perform clinical tasks, such as blood pressure, fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, and others. I am there to provide only physical comfort, emotional support, and in certain circumstances, mediation and advocacy.
· Make decisions for you. I will help you get the information necessary to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your birth plan.
· Speak to the staff on your behalf. I will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options, but you or your partner will speak directly to the clinical staff. On the contrary, I can and will ask questions to spark conversation and inquire further explanations. I will speak up if something is not ok and advocate for my clients.
Client Testimonial
Courtney is a gem! Not only did this woman capture the most important moment in our lives, she supported me through my entire pregnancy journey. Even before I was pregnant with my daughter, she was there for me. She talked me through my miscarriages, encouraged me and offered support. When I found out I was pregnant, she was one of the first people I had told because I needed to know when she would be offering her next sessions of prenatal yoga classes. She coached me in prenatal yoga. Helped me visualize my growing baby, my labor process and embedded into me that I could achieve a natural birth if that is what I desired. She was such a strong support for my husband. Letting him fully take on the role of being my coach and partner before and during my entire labor and encouraging him to advocate for me when I needed it. She was there when my baby finally arrived earth side, and checked in frequently with us when we got home and settled in as a family. I still reach out to her today as I navigate being a new mama. A Doula is something much more than someone that is there for you during your birth. She is there for you for before, during and long after you have your baby. There are so many Doulas out there that you can choose from, but the relationship that Courtney builds with her clients is something so unique. She is my friend and someone who I would recommend to anyone over and over again. Thank you, Courtney for being authentic in what you give to women and their growing families.
